Ngewa residents have decried abandonment by the county government and have threatened to go on rampage over lack of tetanus vaccine at the Ngewa Health Centre.
The residents complained that patients are forced to travel up to Kiambu Town for medication.
The residents have called on Kiambu County Health CeC Jonah Mwangi to intervene in the situation and save the residents from the worries and tribulations of travelling a long distance in order to access medication.
The residents said that Ngewa Health Centre is a big hospital that could not afford to miss such services and thus the county government should not abandon them in their time of need.
Speaking on Tuesday at centre, Ngewa MCA Karungo wa Thang’wa said that he will ensure that the hospital is well equipped with necessary medication by the end of the week to ensure availability of quality services.
"People of Kiambu need better health for development and it is risky for such a hospital to lack the vaccine," said Thang’wa.
Ngewa Health Centre superintendent Dr Gerald Nderitu, said that he had already informed the county government and they were waiting for the supplies in the course of the week.
He urged the patients and the Ngewa community to remain calm since the request was made last week and they are waiting for the county government to respond.
The residents have given the county government a one week ultimatum to respond, failure to which they will take to the streets.
