Locals now claim that the Nairobi county government has neglected them since it has failed to provide them with plenty water.

Residents have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current situation as Nairobi Water Company has failed to explain what is wrong with the supply of water in the slums.

In the last two months, Kibera residents have missed water, something they say is turning to be a threat to them.

“We go several days without water! What is it Nairobi county and the concerned authorities have failed to tell us. Water rationing in the slum has been on the rise. We are tired, we need water," said Mercy, a resident.

Kibera being the largest slum in the country accommodating many people has been reportedly missed water in the last two weeks now.

Residents are forced to walk long distances to Kawangware and Kangemi slums in search of water.

Vendors from the neighbouring slums of Kangemi and Kawangware are the beneficiaries as they sell water at high prices to Kibera residents.
