The group, comprising the business community, religious leaders and area residents, met on Sunday in Naivasha Town to show their support for the CeC. They accused the MCAs of perpetrating the plans to oust Mathea who is the only one from Naivasha Sub County working for the county government.

“These MCAs we elected only know how to criticise the governor and the area MP. If they cannot defend our own son who is on the verge of ousting, why did we vote or them? Do we have to be defended by Elburgon MCA while we have those we voted in?" asked Margaret Muthoni, a resident.

She added, "When you go into their respective wards, they have done nothing in terms of development but they know how to criticise others.”

The residents urged Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua not to assent to the motion saying this will rob of the residents the only representation in the assembly.

“Our MCAs have failed us but we can only plead with the governor not to be misguided by those MCAs who are sleeping on the job. The governor should not approve the ouster lest we are left on the sideline with no representation in the assembly. We know Mathea is clean on this and those against him are doing so because he has sealed all loopholes for overspending and embezzlement of funds,” Hannah Wairimu, a business woman added.
