Kemera residents have called on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to erect speed bumps along Kisii -Nyamira road to reduce frequent accidents.

This came after a middle-aged man lost his life on Wednesday evening at Kemera along the Kisii- Nyamira road when he was crossing and was accidentally hit by a Nissan matatu and died on the spot.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday evening Kemera residents noted that the Nissan which caused the accident went took off in high speed leaving the dead man unattended.

“It is sad for us when we lose one of our resident, the Nissan which caused the death is at large, we are calling for the NTSA to erect speed bumps to reduce this accident,” said Jackson Omae one of the area resident.

At the same time, the residents erected makeshift speed bumps using soil and also threatened to protest if the NTSA won’t intervene.
