The irate residents claimed that the company should be forced to pay for their carelessness.

Peter Ongeri Omenda died after the a miscommunication lead to the switching on of power while he and his colleague were working on a transformer.

Speaking during a night vigil at the scène of the incident, the residents claim that no justice has been done.

“Someone should have been sacked by now. They should be in court and one should be behind bars for murder,” said James Wakibia, an activist.

Wakibia pointed out that the workers were young and had a full life ahead.

“Why isn’t the company doing any investigations on the matter? We understand that this is not the first time people have been electrocuted while on duty. It’s unfortunate for such a big company to fail to put safety measures first,” said Wakibia

Goerge Mkombozi called for the compensation of the victims.

“He left behind a very young family and the children must also have been traumatized especially since the videos were circulating on social media. We would like the company to cater for their counseling sessions,” he added.
