Residents of Ruaka in Kiambu had a reason to smile after they received free medical care that was sponsored by Ramee Hotel that partnered with local medical practitioners.

Speaking at Ruaka shopping centre in Ndenderu ward, Jimmy Kuria, Ramee Hotel manager said that the medical exercise was conducted to usher the residents into the festive season.

“Ramee Hotel has partnered with medical personnel to give residents free treatment to chronic diseases like diabetics and hypertension,” said Kuria.

He urged the residents to go for occasional medical check ups to avoid the risks associated with lifestyle diseases.

“Residents should make a habit of seeking regular medical attention to ascertain their health and avoid complications arising from lifestyle diseases,” said Kuria.

He said: “There is need for the residents to seek early medical attention to avoid further complications accruing from the illness.”

Kuria also urged other stakeholders to come forward and support the community in the dispensation of social responsibilities.

Mary Wambui a beneficiary of the free treatment thanked the hotel for the humility approach in combating the illness.

Over 300 residents, mostly the elderly and children, turned up for the exercise.
