Most of the residents from Biashara ward applauded the move though noted that not much will change since the same people who were in charge of the first exercise will be in charge of the fresh recruitment.

Speaking to HiviSasa.com, Journalist Mohamed Abduba said the exercise cannot be fresh and fair due to self and personal interest.

“The repeat can never be independent as there are people who will want to interfere due to greed,” he said. “The integrity and self discipline as a result of respect for God is lacking. If we want to rescue the situation in the country, we must have humanity, degeneration and remedy research,” he added.

26-year-old Salome Wangari, food kiosk operator at Kenlands Nakuru suburb, said she has lost hope in seeking the police job and she's opted to concentrate on her food kiosk.

"I have wasted so much time and money in participating in the recruitment exercises. It hurts when you work hard to get through but see others bribing their way in," she said.

In Friday ruling, Justice Isaac Lenaola said the recruitment exercise was riddled with corruption and NPSC should have considered complaints raised by different agencies.

“The recruitment exercise carried out on July 14, 2014 by sub-county recruitment committees was inconsistent and in contravention of the constitution,” he ruled.

The Judge ordered the National Police service Commission to carry out fresh recruitment countrywide.
