This comes just two weeks after the residents took to the streets over what they had termed as giving out of bursary forms to unqualified people.

The area MCA, Peter Muiruri, and other county officials had been accused of giving out the forms to the people that are rich instead of the poor bright students.

Kiambu County education executive Esther Ndirangu had promised that they would form an oversight ward committee that will check on anyone applying for a bursary to ensure the funds reach the intended people.

She had also warned anyone bribing or taking bribes to give out the bursary form that they will be prosecuted.

The area ward representative, who dismissed claims that he had given out forms to parents who do not deserve and warned his officials against doing the same, has confirmed that most of the parents who had applied earlier have received the funds in their children's various schools.

Muiruri said the ward committee formed last week has helped them give out forms in an open manner.
