Residents on Friday morning flooded Kisumu international airport to welcome their governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o.
The residents including pupils carried banners and chanted songs of praise to the governor who had been away for several weeks.
Prof Nyong'o's plane landed at the airport 10:20 am after which he was received by the residents and a host of county officials led by his deputy Dr Mathew Owili.
Communication from the county indicate that the governor will attend an interfaith church service at St.Stephen Cathedral and thereafter address a gathering at the Freedom Square.
This will be his first public address following his return from the United States where he was receiving treatment.
The governor had traveled to US for heap medication and jetted back to the country on Tuesday.
