The area has been hit by a water shortage since last week, a status which possible has led to the area residents to use the dumpsite water.

The area has been without water for two weeks now causing most of the residents to consume the dumpsite water for home use and cleaning including bathing.

This comes even after Governor William Kabogo launched a Sh10 million water project in Juja and also commissioned the Witeithie water project which was supposed to ease the scarcity of the resource in the area.

The area THIWASCO officers said that the water shortage is as a result of little water at the reservoir in the intake of the main tank of the Thika Water and Sewerage Company.

They told the residents to bear with the situation and flock the one shop with the water supply though little, as they wait for the situation to easen when the rains come.

They have said the problem has come due to the little rain that fell and thus their intakes are storing very little causing them to ration the resource.

The residents are now overwhelming in the only place there is water and most of them using the natural water hole in the area which is termed as pure and clean by the consumers despite being next to the dumpsite.
