A section of Mombasa residents have expressed mixed reactions following a standoff between NRM general Miguna Miguna and immigration officials at JKIA on Monday night.
Miguna Miguna was on Monday evening bundled into an Emirates Flight EK722 to Dubai, back to Canada.
A bunch of security officers bungled the self-proclaimed NRM general into the plane, tearing his suit as he screamed, protesting and refusing to take a seat.
Miguna protested the deportation while on the plane, saying immigration officials illegally bundled him to the plane.
He would be seen in the plane that had over 400 passengers explaining to the Emirates Airline officials that he had no passport to enable him fly out of the country.
The plane had not left the airport during all this time.
"I'm not going! I'm not going! I'm not boarding! I'm not boarding because I don't have a passport! The captain cannot fly! You cannot take me away from my own country! Kill me I'm not afraid of your gun! I'm not going to Dubai," protested Miguna, at around 11pm.
Mombasa residents also condemned the attack on journalists by the officers.
Below are reactions gathered from various Mombasa residents through an interview.
