Angry residents of Omosase on Monday kicked their chief out of office over claims that he has been sleeping on his job.
According to them, the chief in question has been soliciting bribes from them before offering essential services.
Led by area elder Julius Mogaka, they said for the last one year they have reported the matter to various authorities and nothing has since changed.
"He has been collaborating with illicit brewers and taking bribes from some of people for essential services," Mogaka said.
They further called upon the current County commissioner to take action on the chief by replacing him with another administrator.
The chief, identified as Josphat Nyangaresi, however denied the claims saying he had been wrongly targeted by those seeking to take over from him.
"I wont allow the locals to attempt ousting me from office as I have been working well and I am willing to challenge some of them court of harassment," he said.
