Residents of Kisumu are up in arms with the county government over the poor state of roads in the county.
They say transport in the area is becoming hard especially during this rainy season that is causing flooding in the floods-prone areas in the county.
According to the residents, too much rains witnessed in the county is rendering the roads impassable, a problem that has just been compounded as they the roads have been in poor state for long even after the county government made a series of pledges to repair all the major roads.
According to motorists, they have spent a reasonably huge amount of their money to repair their vehicles as a result of poor roads.
They said they will consider holding a demonstration to pressurize the county government to embark on serious infrastructure development in the area.
Sam Ndiege who is the motorists association chairman in the county said a lot of traffic snarl ups in the city are due to poor roads.
"Whenever it rains, floods obscure numerous potholes on the roads posing danger to the road users. We will hold demonstrations," said Mr Ndiege.
