Residents of Garrisa town outskirts in the county have called on the county administers to step in and repair broken sewer lines that have recently burst in the area.
They said the pipes have burst more than ones and have not been fixed.
“This is one of the most remote places in the county. The fact that there are no many people connected to these sewer lines might be the reason it has not been replaced and the rainwater may cause more mess,” said a local businessman.
The business man has on several occasions personally reported the issue to administrators but no one from the office has even come to see the sewer lines.
“We are now crying out to our elected leaders to come to our aid. We have those that had already been connected and others willing to be connected but we seem to have totally been neglected,” the businessman added.
The pipes are used to serve the whole area including towns and their faulty state have left the village at risk.
The residents are also living in fears after it emerged that one of the pipes carries waste from a nearby town and may be hazardous to human life
