Residents of Carwash in Kisumu City have complained over poor drainage with sewerage water running all over in most parts of the area.
The poor drainage has made many people in the area uncomfortable with some even migrating to better places.
According to residents, the poor drainage in the area poses a health risk to them as it can lead to cases of Cholera and other water-borne diseases.
They locals noted that sewerage water serves as a breeding site for mosquitoes which are spreading malaria in the area.
They requested the County Government to move in with speed and and sort out the issue before it gets out of hand.
"We would like to ask the County Government through the able Governor Anyang' Nyong'o to intervene into the matter as this poor drainage problem is adversely affecting us. The dirty sewage water poses a health risk to us as residents of this place.
"We can easily be infected by water-borne diseases like Cholera and Malaria from mosquitoes breeding in this sites. The County Government should tackle this problem once and for all," Otieno Oyoo a bodaboda operator in the area said.
