Business people in Kibera are complaining of the recent frequent power cuts that have been experienced in the area for the past on week.

They said electricity interruptions have caused them to incur losses running into thousands of shillings as they are forced to close the businesses.

“The cut has really affected my business and I cannot make enough at the end of the day which I would want a quick solution from KPLC,” said Vincent Oduor, who runs an electronic repair shop.

He added that he cannot afford an alternative generator as it will only increase his operating costs to run the business.

Other businesses that rely on electricity such as cyber cafes, barber shops, saloons and welding sites have been inconvenienced a lot by the power blackouts causing most of them to be shut.

The business communities are now calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and find a lasting solution to the problem in order to run their businesses smoothly.
