The residents have accused the police of taking bribes from the brewers.

" Many of these houses are dens , if you count you will find out that six out of ten houses are dens and the number is increasing day by day ",said Owino, a resident.

He said people who drink the illicit brew misbehave in front of their children and wives which in turn lead to bad behavior among the children in the estate.

Mary Karanja, a church elder said the environment where the brew is prepared is wanting as dangerous chemicals, dirty shoes and linen are used to speed up the fermentation proces. She asked the police to stop accepting bribes from the brewers because the brew is poisonous and not safe for consumption.

She urged the county government to take action before the situation gets out of hand.
