According to Gusii Water and Sanitation Company, residents have been dumping garbage including plastic materials and bottles which as led to blockage of drainage channels in Kisii.
Benjamin Onkoba, GWASCO official on Friday said residents should stop dumping garbage careless to water sources.
"Residents are to blame for the blockage of water pipes which also led to the bursting of sewage pipes which contaminated water," said Onkoba.
Onkoba said residents should step up efforts to end water pollution in the County to ensure everyone gets clean water for drinking and for domestic use at homes.
He added that a private exhauster with registration number KBS807T has been operating illegally and discharging sewage and other deleterious materials into sewers and manholes in Kisii town at night.
