Residents of Kasarani area in Kisii South sub-county have accused Kisii county government of constructing bodaboda sheds in the region a move they claimed has displaced small traders operating in the area.
The residents claim that the construction has made traders at Kasarani shopping center be displaced from the area of business where they have been for several years.
"It is unfair for the county to construct shed just in front of traders where they sell their commodities. The sheds are not even used with the bodaboda operators in the area. Area MCA Aramba should address the issue before we demolish the sheds to pave the way for traders to operate their businesses," said Alexinah Moraa.
Francis Onkundi accused area MCA of proposing to construct the shed before looking for a place to relocate the traders.
"This is why Aramba will lose his seat in 2017. Why should the sheds be put where traders operate? Bodaboda operators are mobile and could not use the sheds instead they should have been constructed business stalls and sheds," said Vincent Momanyi.
