Limuru constituency residents in Ngarariga village, Biribirioni ward on Thursday protested after a police officer allegedly assaulted a church leader.

According to the resident, evangelist Jeremiah Kibe of Bethel Church who is admitted at Kijabe Hospital following the injuries he sustained when he was assaulted at the Ngarariga AP post last week Friday.

He had gone to the post to inquire why his sister had been arrested by the officer after which the officer turned violent and beat him with a piece of wood.

Residents now want the officer transferred from the post.

They urged Limuru OCPD Eunice Githure, sub county administration police commander Gitonga Gathumi and area chief Michale Kanga to ensure the officer is transferred as quick as possible.

Peter Kimani, a resident said residents have been working closely with officers and even give them information to arrest crime suspects but now they don't have faith for the new officer who was brought to the camp 3 weeks ago and he must be transferred.
