Angry protestors engaged police in running battle for the better of the day as they demanded immediate opening of the corridor.

Karagita residents claim that the corridor has been allegedly closed by a private developer.

The locals lit bonfire and at some time stoned at motorists who were caught up in the chaos.

Police had a difficult time containing the situation and were forced to use tear gas canisters to disperse the angry protestors.

Two protestors were allegedly hit by bullets fired by police as the protestors stoned the law enforcers.

A vehicle belonging to a flower company was also torched in the chaos.

Speaking to the press, Naivasha Sub County commissioner Abraham Kemboi said investigations into the alleged corridor closure have been started.

“We have summoned the said developer and investigations are already underway,” said Kemboi.

The commissioner urged residents to maintain calm and allow the government to investigate.

Kemboi said that more police will be deployed into the area to quell the situation.

He also warned individuals and groups who he accused of inciting the public.
