The residents are now appealing with the elected leaders within the county to come up with immediate measures, such as ordering for the erection of road signs and bumps along the busy Highway.

Speaking on the behalf of the residents, Alex Tako Otieno said that road accidents have become the order of the day, especially at Nyamasaria area, with school going children knocked down by over speeding motorbikes and vehicles.

He gave an example of at least four people from the region who will be buried this weekend following the said road accidents.

His sentiments were echoed by area former councilor Agnes Nyagol, who blamed the traffic police along the Highway for taking very dismal measures in curbing the accelerating road carnage.

They are now appealing to the Kisumu County traffic department to move with speed and save their lives from the road accidents.
