On Saturday, the locals said police officers from Kerina have been in the village harassing them on claims that they are searching for illicit brew dealers.
The locals appealed to area local administrators led by area chief Madam Triposa Orina to intervene to stop the officers from raiding the village.
"We have a police post at Igonga but we don't know why officers from far areas are the ones raiding our village. This is unacceptable and must stop before we take action. We are tired of being harassed every week," said a resident who requested anonymity.
Another resident Isaiah Nyakang'i said Igonga police post boss Nicholas Omondi Olago should inform the county commissioner about the officers working from far areas where they have not been deployed.
"County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi must be informed about this illegal crackdown so that the officers be transferred to areas where they will suffer for harassing innocent locals," he said.
