Frantic efforts by the leaders to calm down the victims proved futile as displaced residents continued to jeer them.

The dressing down of the leaders has stirred mixed reactions among the residents in the region, as some okaying the booing while others condemning it.

Halima Abdullahi, who witnessed the entire fracas said, " It is wrong to dress down leaders whom we elect ourselves without coercion. Booing our leaders is a bad image to not only our region but also the entire country."

Abdiwahab, a resident, opined," Those who disrupted the majority leader and his entourage address were hired goons. The leaders have come to help us all the way from Nairobi. Then why boo them?"

Deka Mohamed said," These leaders are known to rush here in Garissa when disaster strikes with few sacks of rice. I think they deserved to be disrupted since they were just after taking photos of the victims and post them on social media."

Mohamed Qani said," I think the victims were just telling the leaders the truth of the matter. How do you feel when a leader that you expected to help the victims with necessary necessity comes with few sacks of rice and posts them on Facebook? They have learned a lesson indeed."
