Angry members of public in Kapcholola, Marishoni ward in Elburgon set ablaze a lorry which was allegedly ferrying stolen cattle.
Speaking on phone from Kapcholola, one of the elders, Joseph Barng'etuny said the lorry was suspected to be ferrying the stolen cattle from Seguton in Kuresoi North sub-county when it was intercepted after locals received phone calls from distressed members to block it.
He said that they are saddened by the increasing cases of cattle theft in the area asking the government to crack the whip on rustlers.
The members drawn from Ogiek, Maasai and Kipsigis communities in Molo, Narok South and Kuresoi have issued warning to suspected cattle thieves and lorry owners that they would take laws into their own hands.
