The residents of Bogichora ward in West Mugirango constituency have claimed that their elected leaders have abandoned them by refusing or ignoring to address their complaints.

Led by Solanus Bundi, the locals lamented over the ordeal the residents underwent after the disruption of the electricity at several public utilities in the area including the health facility, Administration Police post and shopping centers.

Speaking to this writer on Friday during the follow up after they held peaceful demonstration on Wednesday, they said that the leaders have sidelined them.

He claimed the power blackout had witnessed commission of burglaries at the trading centres as the area political leadership dragged its feet in ensuring the electricity was restored.

Eunice Mbibi complained the situation obtaining in the ward was that the residents had been left on their own with no roads to access key services.

Threatening to vote out the elected leaders for sleeping on their job come 2017, Bundi James urged the area MCA to honor his promises to the residents.

Bundi said the residents were forced to travel over 6km in search on services reducing them to a marginalized group.

They added that they will continue protesting against what they termed poor services offered by the two levels of government
