With just five days to the end of the mass voter registration process, the exercise has been heightened in Nyando.
On Thursday, Governor Jack Ranguma visited a registration centre to sensitise people on the process.
The governor stopped by the entrance to Karanda school, along Ahero-Riat road where a registration centre is located.
While addressing the huge crowd that gathered at the centre, Ranguma appealed to the people to register and vote him come 2017.
Governor Ranguma has declared he is warming up for a second term.
He told the voters to consider him for another term so that he can continue with his development agenda for the county.
He also called support for Raila Odinga's support.
"I have come to see how you are registering. If you have not registered don't go back without doing so. The officers are here. Register in large numbers because we can only get the governance positions through voting. I also appeal that you also remember our leader Raila Odinga," said Ranguma.
"If he gets into State house I will be able to do more than now," Ranguma told the crowd of people.
The governor's visit drew people from far neighbouring villages.
Some who had not registered got enlisted as the governor left.
