Mwembe Residents in Kisii town have been urged to keep the environment clean by using the containers the county have been put in place for them to dump the wastes.
According to the Kisii community clinical officer, Kepha King’oina, the county government of Kisii has put some containers along the residential houses as one way maintaining the environment. King'oina who was speaking at Mwembe on Monday advised residents to make use of the containers to keep the environment clean.
''Unlike the previous days where residents had no place to dump waste now the county has put containers along your places so make use of them as the county will access it and take it to a designated place,'' said King’oina.
In addition, he added that it is the role of the residents to make sure the environment is maintained as one that is protected from the outbreak of diseases.
''We have been experiencing some outbreaks of some diseases simply because of our ignorance on how to keep the environment clean so we need to maintain it,'' added King’oina.
He also advised residents that whenever there are signs of any outbreak of disease they should immediately report to the Ministry of Health for necessary measures to take place.
