Residents of Mombasa, community leaders and Civil Society Organisations (CSO’s) from Likoni, Kisauni and Mvita Sub-counties turned up at Mshale, Bilima and Makadara grounds to participate in the Mombasa County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) 2018.
The exercise which ended on Thursday, saw participants analyze the Draft Fiscal Strategy Paper and give numerous proposals of how they would want funds allocated to the various departments for the services they need.
Many suggested that more funds be channeled to Environment, Health, Education and Water as a matter of urgency among others.County Executives led by Department of Finance and Economic Planning Executive Maryam Mbaruk, Chief Officers, Directors, County Public Service Board and Sub County Administration noted the inputs by residents for consideration.
The County Fiscal Strategy Paper 2018 is a document that identifies the broad strategic priorities and policy goals that guides the County government in preparing its budget for Financial Year (FY) 2018/2019 and the medium term.
