The road connects Magombo, Nyachogochogo, Sirate, Kuura, Makairo markets to the Kisii-Chemosit road at Tinga, and despite its significance, it has become a nightmare due to the presence of potholes.

The  ongoing rains pounding the region have worsened the situation.

The road which links parts of the West Mugirango and Kitutu Masaba constituencies is under the national government.

Denis Nyariki, a boda boda rider, said all the previous promises that the road will be repaired have never come to fruition.

“The area MP (James Gesami), has been giving promises now and then to repair the road but nothing has been done to date,” said Nyariki on Wednesday.

He added that several people have been injured as riders negotiated the potholes and asked Gesami to urgently push for the repair, especially at Sirate area.

Another rider, Rodgers Suneka said the section was riskiest at night due to the numerous potholes.

Norah Atuti,  is a business said the state of the road inconveniences all users and urged the concerned authorities to speedily repair it.
