According to the residents, cases of accidents are steadily rising along the road.

Speaking to HiviSaSa.Com on Sunday, the residents asked KeNHA to move with speed and establish the foot bridge.

“We are concerned over the rise in number of accidents along this road and establish a footbridge will curb the carnages,” said Marin Waweru.

Waweru said that a day hardly passes without an accident being reported. He alleged that most motorists using the road flout traffic rules resulting to accidents.

The locals also want KeNHA to erect more road signs along the road.

The residents also urged the area MP Mburu Kahangara to push for speedy repair of roads in the area.

“Our county government and MP should step in and repair all roads for safety of road users,” said Maurice Muyia, a bodaboda operator at Lari town.

The locals blamed poor roads to accidents that continue to be experienced in the area.

On Saturday night a trader was killed as he crossed the road at Kwa Mathore area along the Lari-Kijabe road on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
