As the fight against illicit brew in parts of the Nyamira county continues, the Nyamira county Commissioner Josephine Onunga has gone ahead to warn all distillers to stop engaging in the business before the law catches up with them.

“We cannot achieve our development agendas as a county if we continue allowing such businesses to continue to run in our current society,” said Commissioner Onunga.

In addition, she has advised residents to realise that getting drunk in the villages is not the best way to spend their time and that they should instead put their effort into trying to curb the behaviour.

“As the county commissioner of Nyamira, I cannot allow such activities to continue taking place during my administration while other counties are moving ahead," she noted.
