Speaking to residents at Bahati market, area MP Kimani Ngunjiri said with the slaughter house providing a ready market, poultry farmers in the region need to have a consistent supply to be able to raise their living standards through better chicken prices.

He further applauded the Ministry of Livestock Development for coming up with the project saying it will go a long way in boosting the economy of the residents.

Ngunjiri disclosed that as part of the expected developments in the district, a university will soon be opening its doors for admission hence called upon parents to take advantage of such opportunities to educate their children to higher levels.

He also called upon investors to construct hostels and hotels in Bahati town as a way of helping the town grow economically.

Bahati farmers have for the past neglected the poultry rearing due to high cost of food and lack of product market.
