Kisumu residents have been urged to turn up in large numbers during the Kisumu County Environment Health Sanitation and Hygiene Policy Public Participation meetings that will be held between January 31, and February 09, 2018.Kisumu County Public Health Officer Dr Arthur Shikanda said they intend to come up with a progressive health and sanitation policy aimed at improving the livelihoods of the residents.Speaking to this writer in Kisumu on Monday, Dr Shikanda said a proper policy can only be arrived at after residents’ give their views.“The issue of hygiene and sanitation affects everybody in the society.That is why residents should embrace public participation at a time like this when we need to hear their views,” said Dr Shikanda.“It is the responsibility of each individual to maintain hygiene and sanitation.
