Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago  has urged residents to go back to work since politics are  over.

He said it is important for the people to go back to bringing back the economy that had been affected by the lengthy electioneering period.

"We are done with voting and as Jubilee, we want to give IEBC space to count the votes and later give us a formal outcome. Let us continue working to improve our economy," he said in Eldoret town, Friday.

"On Monday, my Government will go back to its normal business such as reparing roads that may have got damaged by rains, purchasing drugs among others and residents should follow suit," he added.

He, however, took issue with the opposition leader Raila Odinga  for engaging in acts that reek of economic sabotage.

"I want to ask Nasa to stop  drifting from politics to economic sabotage. Right now, they are asking their supporters not to buy items from other people, surely, who is dividing the nation," Mandago wondered.

He urged Kenyans to maintain peace as they await the announcement of the just concluded presidential elections results.

"Let us maintain peace while voting and live as brothers and sisters as we used to before elections," he said.
