Residents of Nakuru County have been invited to start submitting their views on how they would want the 2015/2016 county budget to look like.
Speaking on Wednesday when he launched the budget sensitisation drive at the county headquarters, county finance executive Francis Mathea called on all stakeholders to submit their views saying that their input is important.
He said that the law requires residents to submit their views and fully participate in the budget making process before it proceeds to the county assembly.
“We are just four months away from the next financial year and we have started the process of budget making and as the law requires, stakeholders in the county including residents, businessmen, investors, civil society, church leaders and any other interested persons are hereby invited to submit their views about how they want the 2015/2016 budget to look like,” said Mathea.
Mathea said that the public views will be received from the 27th January 2015 to 16th February 2015 across the county.
“Budget making and views collection meeting will be held at all sub counties at dates to be communicated later and we don’t want to lock out anybody. They can therefore start submitting their views at our county headquarters or at the sub county offices as from the 27th of this month,” he said.
