Wanjohi who is vying for the seat on JAP ticket claimed that the party holds the future of Kiambu County.

“JAP is the 'people's' party and Kabete electorate should support the party's flag bearer in the March 19 by-election,” said Wanjohi.

Speaking on Wednesday in Lower Kabete during his political campaign, Wanjohi urged electorates to come up in large numbers on the election date and elect him as their flag bearer.

“I urge Kabete electorates to elect me since I have sound record of development,” said Wanjohi.

He said that once elected, he will address education, street lighting, fight alcoholism and enhance infrastructural development.

Wanjohi warned of election malpractices during the by-election saying that, “We want the by-election to be conducted on the basis of fairness and transparency.

He also warned political detractors against politicising the campaign for the purpose of gaining self political mileage.

“The Kabete parliamentary seat will not entertain any political propagandist in Kabete instead we encourage the issue of development to carry the day,” added Wanjohi.

The seat has attracted more than 25 contestants including political heavy weights like Ferdinant Waititu who are vying for the seat on JAP ticket, a situation that has confirmed the dominance of Uhuru Kenyatta in central Kenya.
