Kisii county director of health Geoffrey Ontomu has called on residents to support the initiative of the ministry of health on Polio vaccination and have their children vaccinated.
Speaking on Wednesday at Kisii town he urged the residents to be aware of Polio vaccination and urged parents to let their kids have the life-saving vaccine.
“I urge parents to allow medics vaccinate their kids against polio which will kick off from 9th to 13th of this month. It's a deadly disease that has been responsible for physical disability among young children," said Ontomu.
Ontomu noted that the ministry will vaccinate all children even if they were vaccinated in the last drive.
“The ministry has made strides in the fight against polio hence we urge all parents and guardians to take the responsibility so that their children can be vaccinated in fight against Polio," said Ontomu.
He also thanked those parents who have embraced the exercise and urged more parents to let their kids be vaccinated in the coming exercise.
