After a mother died last week in Boikanga ward Gesonso village in South Mugirango Kisii County residents have now taken a step that has surprised many by using bulls in road construction.
They decided to take the move to easily transport the deceased body back home after carrying it from the house where she died due to bad roads to the mortuary last week.
Speaking to the press the residents said that they have suffered a lot with people losing lives due to bad roads that the county government has failed to construct for three years since Governor James Ongwae assumed office hence they decided to use the bulls to create easy access for their own good since they have been discriminated.
Rose Kerubo a woman who was among those trying to improve the road said that it was painful to the family that lost a relative to construct the road a work that the county should do using public money.
“This is quite a discrimination by the County government under the leadership of Governor Ongwae who claims that he has constructed some roads,” said Kerubo.
Thomson Osoro also a resident accused Governor Ongwae of mere public relations statements in Kisii town where he has erected street lights and good roads to blind visitors when people are suffering in rural areas where transporting the sick and the deceased is a big challenge.
