Volunteering youth in Para Nne Village in Gucha sub county Kisii county on Tuesday rehabilitated a road that has been troubling the area residents during the rainy season.

According to the Village elder Richard Rayori the road which has been in a bad state and calls for it to be repaired have been  ignored by the  leadership, led the youths to assist and do their part in making a difference.

He added that the area farmers who produce tea have been getting loses day in day out since vehicles collecting tea from the nearest tea buying centers could not make it to the place a move that makes their products go on waste.

“We are happy the area youths saw the loses we are getting as a community and decided to voluntarily repair the road that has been in a terrible state,” said Rayori.

According to one of the youth in the road repairing process John Mokaya they decided to carry out the exercise after they have regularly called for help from both the MP and the county government respectively.

“The process has taken the whole morning and we believe we will continue with the same come tomorrow so that we can completely make the road visible,” said Mokaya.
