Led by the area sub-chief Lawrence Kahoro, the residents claim that the area is a black spot that has claimed many lives, and want the bumps to save the situation.

A week ago, a standard six boy was hit and killed by a car that drove off, while on another incident, a sixty-year-old granny died on the spot, after a lorry transporting building material hit her.

According to the sub chief, who talked during the funeral of the granny, Elizabeth Mukami at the Nakuru North Cemetery on Wednesday, the spot has claimed over ten people over the last one year, and the government should act to avert more deaths.

“We appeal to the ministry of roads to take immediate action as we continue loosing lives. There should be bumps on that section of the road because it has proved to be a black spot,” said Kahoro, adding that the road constructors did a shoddy job.

According to the chief, the landscape at the alleged black spot is hilly, while the newly constructed highway is too wide that allows no specifications of traffic and pedestrians.
