Shabaab area residents now want a hotline created to deal water services in the area. The residents complain that they do not have any number to call in case there is a water shortage in the area. Jane Nyambura, one of the residents, said the county government should create a way that will enable the residents to reach them on short notice. She said that they often have to walk to water department offices to air their complaints, a move that is quite tasking. “When your face becomes familiar there you risk being denied water,” she added. The residents felt that lack of water in Koinange, Kaptembwa, Kenlands and Tanners was a deliberate move by the water body to frustrate them. “We do not have anyone to talk to and often we call our friends who work in that department. Considering that water shortage in this area has been rampant since November we want a complaints desk created,” said Godfrey Kimani, Shabaab Association Welfare Group chairman. He noted that there was no complaints box where customers can express their dissatisfaction. “We fear being intimidated for raising complaints and that;s why we want an active customer care desk dedicated to deal with issues of water disruption," he noted.
