Kiabonyoru MCA James Sabwengi is under pressure to sack five employees stationed in his office over alleged incompetence.
Speaking to the reporter on Thursday, the angry residents, led by Kelvin Omare questioned service delivery in the ward offices, blaming the workers of lateness to the office and missing in action during the week days.
“Honestly we are tired with poor service delivery in the MCA’s office because his staff is never in office. They close the office most of the days during the week yet the office is paid through taxpayers,” Omare said.
“Time has come for our MCA to crack a whip on those incompetent employees. They are paid using our money and we are not ready to compromise over the issue. We want people who are ready to serve by staying focused in the office,” he added.
They warned a possible ‘political’ humiliation to the MCA if he fails to execute a total overhaul on his staff before 2017 polls.
“Sometimes we don’t have major issues with the MCA because we understand that he is busy in Nyamira assembly. But those representing him at the grassroots must serve people properly failure to which the MCA will get a political humiliation in 2017,” he added.
However, Sabwengi could neither admit nor deny the incompetence allegations when reached through the phone but promised to investigate.
“I have heard the claims but I don’t know how justified they are. I will investigate the matter and take decisive actions,” he told the reporter.
