The residents said that if the county government with the national government wishes to help the future generation, traders selling glue should be arrested as this is the only way the street children will agree to go into rehabilitation centres.

Speaking on Thursday evening at DC area, residents said that many of the street children pretend to stop sniffing glue but they at times get tempted to go to their suppliers who sell it to them and at times, these suppliers even give them the glue for free something that makes it even harder for them to stop the habit even if they wanted to.

“The reason for glue sniffing among the street children is suppliers. As residents, we cannot be able to stop the menace only the government can intervene and save the lives of our children,” said Francis Omondi, a resident.

“Taking street children to rehabilitation centres is very tricky. Traders selling glue should be tracked down. Many children run from their homes to buy glue to sniff,” said Samuel Juma, another resident.
