Kisii County Deputy governor Joash Maangi has warned area residents against bribing county government officers to get services.
According to Maangi, both the county and national government services are free and for those that attract fees, an official receipt is issued.
He sounded the warning at Kisii Central ward in Kisii town when he inspected operations at the Huduma Centre which is aimed at bringing government services closer to the residents.
According to Maangi, there have been claims that there are government officials that demand for bribes at the Huduma centre for quick processing of documents.
“The vice (bribery) has tainted the image of the government but this centre will now reverse the trend,” he added.
Heurged Kenyans to report any public servant who demands bribe to the authorities for action.
“This is a cashless centre, do not bribe. All the services are fast and efficient and for the places you pay ensure you receive a receipt,” he added.
