Kisii residents have been warned against illegal power connections since by so doing they are risking their life and those of others.
Ezekiel Omondi, a Kenya Power officer said cases of illegal power connections have been on the rise citing that the consequence of this act may be very painful.
He was speaking today at Nyamage.
“We have had cases of individuals having their homes burnt and worse others getting electrocuted. Please shun this culture,” said Omondi.
He told the residents that the money collected from them is used to better services to them.
"Do not view paying the electricity bills as punishment, this is what we use to improve on the services we deliver. Our relationship is mutual, you help us to help you,” added Omondi.
He told the residents to report cases of illegal power connections.
“Do not let one individual make you pay for their own selfish interests. Speak up,” he Omondi.
