Nakuru town residents have been warned against misusing Nyayo gardens recreational site.
County director of environment Timothy Muriithi, said that there are some people in the town, who have a habit of littering, urinating and holding romantic sessions at the gardens.
Muriithi said those who will be caught contravening the notice, will be arrested and prosecuted.
“The county government has noted some irritating behaviours being portrayed by residents who visit Nyayo gardens. We have taken note of the following behaviours, which will not be tolerated at the gardens; urinating at the gardens, littering, and any intimate sexual activities such as kissing and romancing in public,” read the notice.
Muriithi further banned food vendors from accessing the gardens as a way of keeping the facility clean.
“Take further note that all food vendors and other hawkers have been banned from accessing Nyayo gardens and if found they will face the law,” added the notice.
The county has further banned residents from accessing the gardens before 6am and past 6pm.
Nyayo gardens at the centre of Nakuru town serves as a resting and meeting place to tens of people during working days.
