Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has been urged to desist from blaming his political opponents on the alleged slow development and instead ‘take charge’ and rectify some of the most pressing issues in the county.
Former Kitutu Masaba MP Mwancha Okioma took the onslaught at the governor and criticised his continued blame on some of the leaders on the stalemate witnessed in development.
Okioma, who was addressing youths drawn from the county in an evening dinner at Dam Side Hotel on Monday, said the governor had failed to assert his authority and work for the people and urged him to bow out if he felt the pressure was too much on the county’s top seat.
“I have been hearing him calling for other leaders and those who are opposing him to come and work with him. He manages the resources and we do not necessarily have to work with him to see projects being initiated across the county. He should stop crying foul and work or resign if he feels the pressure is too much,” he said.
Mr Okioma who is also eying the top seat said the county boss was putting much focus on his critics rather than coming up with initiatives that could answer dissatisfied leaders on stagnated development.
“There is no development taking place and instead of fixing the problem, he his busy yelling and blaming some of us. He should know that he has access to county resources therefore; we should see more of action on areas that we have been complaining on. As the opposition, we have a right to put him on check,” he added.
Okioma urged his fellow politicians who were critical of Mr Nyagarama’s leadership to keep on pointing at the areas that needed to be worked on.
