Addressing residents of Nyamwetureko village in Bonyamatuta ward on Wednesday Ong'ombe said the functions of hiring and firing county executive members solely belong to the governor and not his/her deputy.

"It is constitutionally known that the responsibility of hiring and firing of senior government officials solely lie on the county governor and not his deputy that is why it is ridiculous for somebody to say that he was not consulted," said Ong'ombe.

On Friday, Governor Nyagarama made changes to his cabinet where several county ministers were affected. But Nyaribo has distanced himself from the changes saying he wasn't consulted.

Ong'ombe further challenged Nyaribo to resign if he is not satisfied with how the government is run.

"If somebody is not happy with how the government is run, he'd rather quit office and Nyaribo should do exactly that," added Ong'ombe.
