President Uhuru Kenyatta has lost the fight against the graft and should resign, South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya has said.
On Tuesday, the President expressed his frustration in the fight against corruption insisting that his hands were tied by the Constitution.
And in addressing his constituents in the South Mugirango WhatsApp group, Nyamweya faulted Uhuru for ‘throwing in the towel', saying it was likely to give room for more cartels to antagonise the economy of the nation.
“I watched the President addressing corruption and as the Head of State, he should not have come public blaming the laws of the land and institutions mandated to tame the vice. Expressing frustrations only portrayed him as someone who had lost the war,” he said.
“The cartels are now likely to increase now that even the President is fed up. He has a moral responsibility of giving directions and orders so his concerns may not be entirely genuine. We need a President who is bold regardless of what the law requires,” he added.
He urged Uhuru and his administration to quit their jobs and give ‘bold’ Kenyans the chance to lead the nation.
“When you say things aren’t working, the most honest thing to do is resigning. That is what I expect of him as a democratic person,” he said.
